律师不是天使也不是魔鬼，律师既不代表正义也不代表邪恶，而是通过参与司法活动和提供法律服务的过程去实现并体现正义。一名律师具备广博的知识积累，敏锐的判断力，深厚的法律素养，高超的庭辩技巧与应变能力，严谨的思维习惯，精湛的书面表达能力，干练的仪表能够提供优质的法律服务，就能够被称之为精英律师了吗？我认为这样的律师还不能被称之为精英律师，一名精英律师还应该把坚持正确的政治方向，维护司法公正、社会公平和稳定，促进经济繁荣作为自己的社会责任。

Lawyersare neither angels nor demons. Lawyers do not represent justice nor evil, butrealize and embody justice by participating in judicial activities andproviding legal services. Can a lawyer be called an elite lawyer if he hasextensive knowledge accumulation, keen judgment, profound legal literacy,superb court defense skills and adaptability, rigorous thinking habits,exquisite written expression ability and capable appearance that can provide high-qualitylegal services? I don't think such lawyers can be called elite lawyers yet. Anelite lawyer should also take adhering to the correct political direction,safeguarding judicial justice, social fairness and stability, and promotingeconomic prosperity as his social responsibility.

律师的社会责任应是一种道德责任。律师应成为恪守一般社会道德规范的楷模。首先，律师在提供专业服务的过程中不能突破善良、忠诚、守信这些社会公认的普适性道德规范。其次，作为特殊的职业群体，律师还应怀有人文关怀之心，追求公平正义，发挥自己的职业特长，积极为弱势群体、公益事业提供法律援助，积极承担社会责任，做践行社会道德规范的楷模。

Lawyers'social responsibility should be a kind of moral responsibility. Lawyers shouldbe models of adherence to general social ethics. First of all, lawyers cannotbreak through the universally recognized moral norms of kindness, loyalty andtrustworthiness in the process of providing professional services. Secondly, asa special professional group, lawyers should also have the heart of humanisticcare, pursue fairness and justice, give full play to their professionalexpertise, actively provide legal aid for vulnerable groups and public welfareundertakings, actively assume social responsibilities, and be models forpracticing social ethics.

律师的社会责任还体现为一种政治责任。每一个公民都担负着义不容辞的国家政治责任，律师也不例外。在我国，律师不仅是为当事人提供法律服务的执业人员，也是国家的法律工作者；不仅是追逐物质利益的“经济人”，也应是考量社会公共利益的“社会人”，所以，律师介于当事人和国家、市场和法律之间，在履行对当事人忠诚义务的同时，还要忠于法律和公共秩序，积极投身构建法治国家、和谐社会的宏伟事业，为经济社会发展贡献自己的一份力量。

Lawyers'social responsibility is also reflected as a political responsibility. Everycitizen bears the obligatory political responsibility of the country, andlawyers are no exception. In our country, lawyers are not only practitionerswho provide legal services for clients, but also legal workers of the country.Not only is it an "economic man" who pursues material benefits, Itshould also be a "social man" who considers the public interest ofthe society. Therefore, lawyers are between the parties and the state, themarket and the law. While fulfilling their duty of loyalty to the parties, theyshould also be loyal to the law and public order, actively participate in thegrand cause of building a country ruled by law and a harmonious society, andcontribute their share to economic and social development.
